The house on haunted hill 1999
#THE HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL 1999 MOVIE#
The movie overall was fun to watch especially in the dark with newbie horror fans. I have to admit the third act could have been better and did not need to resort to CGI scares that look and feel fake. The movie was an incredible adventure that I embarked on and did not want to get off of as I want to see more and was beyond happy when I found out that there will be a sequel. The entire cast gave us compelling, convincing performances that made us feel their pain as they tried their best to save their lives. The night did not go the way the couple planned it. They have no choice but to spend the night regardless if they want to or not because the security gate is locked. The couple rigged the house with devices that were meant to scare the guests, but the asylum began to show the guests and couple how much more frightening it is. They offer the five people one million dollars each if they can survive until morning. Evelyn ( Famke Janssen - X-Men (2000), X-Men 2 (2003), X-Men: The Last Stand (2006), GoldenEye (1995)) and her husband welcomed in the five individuals, guess who showed up and who was not invited or on the invite list. Stephen Price ( Geoffrey Rush - Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003), Shakespeare in Love (1998)) and his wife Evelyn devise a plan to invite some people to attend a party at the abandoned asylum. The asylum closed in 1931 after the patients started a riot and an outbreak which lead to a lot of patients dy**g in the asylum. House on Haunted Hill revolves around a group of strangers who accepted a deal to receive $1 million each if they survive the night in an abandoned asylum name Vannacutt Psychiatric Institute for the Criminally Insane. The special effects were impressive, fantastic set designs the setting was perfect, and the special effects were spooky as the vengeful spirits start claiming lives while scaring the pants out of everyone else. Director William Malone ( Feardotcom (2002), Creature (1985), Scared to (1980)) did an excellent job executing this film. A millionaire offers a group of diverse people 1,000,000 to spend the night in a haunted house with a horrifying past.
